A dark, high-sulphur diesel parcel with a cetane number of 38 was treated in the laboratory. The treated sample came back pale, under 500 ppm sulphur, with a cetane number of 59.4.
What was done
Diesel decolorisation with desulphurisation by chemical reaction and a cetane correction, dosed on the buyer's sample on the magnetic stirrer and filtered.
