The fuel oil is over the sulphur limit.
- What you see
- Sulphur above the buyer's or the regulator's limit; often ash, sodium and vanadium are high in the same parcel.
- Where it comes from
- The feedstock. Residual streams carry the sulphur and metals of the crude they came from.
- What APCO does
- Desulphurisation by chemical reaction with metal deactivation, trialled on the sample and applied at tank scale. The treated parcel is tested by an independent laboratory, and the report shows what moved and what held (flash point and density stay where they were).
