Naphtha: from 0.117 % sulphur to 55 ppm, and a passed doctor test
A naphtha parcel in a third-party shore tank failed on total sulphur and on the doctor test for mercaptans. Treatment ran at tank scale; the independent report on the treated parcel read 55 ppm.
What was done
Doctor-test treatment for mercaptan sulphur, then desulphurisation by chemical reaction, both dosed at the terminal. Before and after samples were tested by an independent ISO 9001 laboratory in Hamriyah against the full distillation and sulphur suite. Reports, with their reference numbers, are available on request.
